Heavenly Waffles is creating a stir with its innovative approach to waffle/pancake mix. Founded by Chef Bob Haney, this isn’t your average waffle—it’s a culinary delight born from a journey of flavor and inspiration that spans generations.

Behind every great recipe lies a story, and Chef Haney’s story is as unconventional as they come. A testament to resilience and redemption, his story begins with dreams of becoming a professional baseball player. However, life had other plans, leading him to unexpected challenges.

After college, he entered the fast-paced world of modeling, gracing runways in New York, Milan, and Madrid for brands like Jos. A. Bank and Old Navy. Amid the glamor, Chef Haney struggled with addiction, hitting rock bottom before experiencing a spiritual rebirth that changed his life forever.

With newfound clarity, Chef Haney embraced memories of cooking with his grandmother, Gladys, and mother, Joanne. These women shaped his palate and love for creative cooking.

“I started cooking when I was four,” he recalls. “One of my earliest memories is helping my grandma make Thanksgiving gravy.”

Inspired by childhood flavors, Chef Haney set out to create something unique—a waffle that satisfies the palate and nourishes the body. Drawing from family pancake recipes, he experimented with ingredients like sour cream and yogurt.

“One of Grandma’s ingredients was sour cream,” Chef Haney reminisces. “When we didn’t have any, I used yogurt instead. Now, dry yogurt is part of our mix, thanks to Grandma.”

From humble beginnings as “Pancrepes,” sold at local diners and grocery stores, Chef Haney’s journey took a turn toward waffles. Recognizing the need for versatility, he transformed his pancake batter into Heavenly Waffles. Initially retaining the Pancrepes name confused customers, prompting a rebrand. Thus, the trademarked Heavenly Waffles was born—a tribute to his late grandmother.

“If they serve waffles in heaven, they are these,” Chef Haney beams.

Perseverance and ingenuity propelled Heavenly Waffles to success, with the product gaining traction through corporate events and restaurant partnerships. Local establishments from big sports stores to nearby small-town cafes have embraced Heavenly Waffles, helping to expand its reach to other parts of the country.

What sets Heavenly Waffles apart isn’t just its taste but its nutritional value. Each four-ounce serving contains 11 grams of protein, 140 calories, two grams of added sugar, and low sodium, enriched with collagen. With traditional flour replaced by dry yogurt, these waffles offer a light, fluffy texture without the heaviness of typical breakfast foods.

Considering its nutrition, it’s no surprise Heavenly Waffles are a hit with athletes. Chef Haney is now cleared to sell them to MLB training tables.

“As a former college baseball player, I couldn’t make the MLB with my arm, but I’m making it with my Heavenly Waffles,” he laughs.

Anyone can recreate these waffles at home using four ingredients: sparkling water, an extra-large egg, oil, and Heavenly Waffles mix. Simply whisk the ingredients until smooth, preheat your waffle iron, and lightly coat it with cooking spray before pouring in the batter. Chef Haney suggests leaving the waffle iron open briefly after pouring to ensure a crispy texture.

Notably, Heavenly Waffles batter is thinner than most mixes but stays fresh for up to four days in the fridge.

“I spent years perfecting a waffle that is light, fluffy, and deceivingly nutritious,” Chef Haney says. “Our waffles are simply divine.”

For creative cooks, the Heavenly Waffles website offers recipes like Avocado Heavenly Waffles and Pumpkin Chai Heavenly Waffles. Customers can also enjoy mix flavors like cinnamon apple, chocolate espresso, banana, legacy blueberry, original, and gluten-free options.

With each bite, you’ll taste the passion that will make Heavenly Waffles a household name in breakfast foods. Through perseverance and faith, Chef Haney’s story reminds us that great food feeds the soul.
